| BiographyRodolphe Husny was born in the Cote-des-Neiges area. He grew up in Outremont where he attended Mont-Jesus-Marie elementary school. He also attented university at HEC-Montreal.
Professional activities and education
He holds a graduate degree in public accounting from HEC Montreal and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in public accounting. Rodolphe has over 5 years of experience in audit and tax services in the sector of small and medium businesses. He is currently a senior associate for a large accounting firm in Montreal.
Social involvement
Rodolphe Husny is committed and actively involved in all different aspects of his community. He believes in leading by example and the need for young people to participate in handling tomorrow's problems. He is a member of several organizations in the field of business including the Montreal Young Chamber of Commerce, the Regrouping of the Young Chambers of Commerce of Quebec, Young Canadians in Finance, the Canadian Club of Montreal and the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations. He was a volunteer advisor for Junior Achievement of Quebec, a program providing a learning experience for youth entrepreneurship. He was also jury in Quebec Entrepreneurship Contest organized by SAJE Montreal. Considering the importance of youth's political involvement to interest young people in politics he has instated a scholarship at HEC-Montreal for a student getting involved in politics.
Rodolphe Husny much admires artists and recognizes the difficulty they may have to live of their art. Therefore, he is a founding patron and member of the executive committee of ArtScene Montreal, which promotes business leadership in the arts. He is also a member of several boards of directors and fundraising committees of several museums, the Ballets Jazz de Montreal, the Montreal Opera, the Canadian Music Competition and the Bach Festival Montreal.
His involvement also leads to active participation in various think tanks like the Fraser Institute, the Montreal Economic Institute, Generating ideas, Future Forces, Leadership Montreal and many others. Rodolphe was awarded the leadership of the Canadian multiple sclerosis award in 2010.
His political vision
Rodolphe Husny has been a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in Outremont since August 2009. He believes in the values ​​of his party, in particular such as recognizing the Quebec nation, limiting spending and eliminating the deficit, reducing the GST and taxes, creating jobs, respecting provincial jurisdiction and taking a tougher stance on white collar crimes. In the riding of Outremont, Rodolphe recognizes the importance of social inclusion through access to employment for permanent residents and the recognition of foreign credentials as well as the shortage of social housing. He also supports the proposed campus of the University of Montreal in Outremont marshalling yard. | |
